Deep Neuron Lab wins Sparkassen Hackathon

After months of preparation and many hours of video shooting and editing, it's done. The DNL team wins the final round of Symbioticon 2021, the hackathon of the Sparkassen Finanzgruppe. 

With the Balance Reader, DNL was already able to win the preliminary round in 2020 and claim victory in the "artificial intelligence" category. The idea: By using AI, business reports can be analysed much faster. This saves valuable working hours for the Sparkassen, which can then give their customers feedback on the credit decision much more quickly. They won the final and DNL now receives not only the main prize of 20,000 EUR but also the opportunity to further develop and pilot its idea within the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe. 

"The team had to do a lot in the last few weeks to get so many things done in time," explained CPO Iason Georgakopoulos. "Special thanks go to Finanz Informatik and DSV for their support over the last few months," emphasised DNL CEO Andreas Schindler after the announcement.

This year, the hackathon took place as a purely digital event in a livestream with more than 10,000 spectators. Under the motto #Gamechanger, the 76 participating teams of Symbioticon, which was launched in November 2020, developed and presented forward-looking ideas for the financial industry.
